Small deciduous tree or large shrub about 4m in height, with slightly fragrant, double, rosy-pink flowers to 2cm across, these appear with the leaves in early to mid-spring; the leaves are palish red at first, becoming pale to mid-green in summer

Cultivation
Grow in any moist, but well-drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun

Propagate by chip budding or grafting, although softwood cuttings in early summer with bottom heat can be successful
