A rhizomatous, autumn-flowering perennial around 60cm tall. It produces arching stems and narrowly ovate leaves with linear veins. Flowers are borne on short stems from the leaf axils. They are pendant, bell-shaped and yellow, internally spotted with brown markings like a foxglove
