Volunteer at an RHS Flower Show

Our world-famous flower shows take place each summer and volunteers are the face of the RHS for our visitors

Take up a volunteer opportunity and you could help us with:

Enhancing the visitor experience

Volunteers are often the first point of contact for visitors arriving at our shows. All volunteers provide high quality customer service to our visitors, no matter what role they are in, such as answering questions about the show, or providing directions. Our volunteers’ knowledge of the show can help them to make the most of their day.

Recruiting new RHS members

Volunteers will proactively approach our show visitors to explain the benefits of RHS Membership and how important their support is to our charitable work. They’ll share their knowledge of plants to encourage visitors to become RHS members.

Plant-finding in the Floral Marquees

Our volunteers provide a friendly and helpful presence in the floral marquee, assisting visitors to navigate their way around. They support visitors to locate specific plants or exhibits and might also direct them to other areas for specialist advice.

Sharing knowledge on an RHS Garden Feature

Garden Feature Volunteers are stationed on the RHS funded gardens at our shows to talk to visitors about the concept, design, messaging and planting of the garden.

Supporting our retail outlets

The RHS is known for its fantastic retail products. For many visitors, the opportunity to buy a few gifts or souvenirs is an important part of their day. In this varied role, our volunteers provide a high quality service to our visitors, keep stock levels topped up or perhaps even help a celebrity with a purchase!
