About the garden
Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens is located on the scenic Isle of Anglesey near Menai Bridge. Nestled beside the Menai Strait, this stunning estate was purchased in 1996 by its current owner, who began the extensive restoration of the historic buildings, garden, and grounds. Over the years, large sections of the gardens have been meticulously transformed and returned to their former splendor. The restoration uncovered unique features, including a walled garden with curving walls and a serene pool, as well as a secluded valley garden with a river and waterfalls.
Since the restoration work began in 1997, the gardens have undergone remarkable changes. Much of the land had been left untouched for more than 70 years, making this an immense undertaking. Now, after more than two decades of dedicated work, the gardens are a true haven for plant enthusiasts. First opened to the public in 2012, Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens is quickly becoming a renowned destination, home to an array of unusual plants, including nearly 100 varieties of hydrangea.
