About the garden
Set in the countryside between Masham and Ripon in North Yorkshire, the award-winning Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park spans 45 acres of breathtaking woodland gardens. Inspired by the majestic Himalayas, the garden features one of the North’s largest collections of rhododendrons, azaleas, and magnolias, thriving in the area’s unusual microclimate. The undulating terrain offers visitors a scenic journey through woodlands, an arboretum, peaceful lakes, and diverse wildlife, with the rare Meconopsis blue poppy flourishing in its fertile soil.
In addition to its botanical beauty, the stunning park is home to 90 contemporary sculptures, thoughtfully positioned throughout the landscape, with a remarkable collection of sculptures by both local and international artists. These pieces are seamlessly integrated into the surroundings, encouraging reflection and inspiration. The garden and park also host events and workshops, with a woodland playground for children and a delightful tearoom serving freshly prepared food to round off a visit.
