About the garden
English horticulturist, garden designer, artist and writer Gertrude Jekyll spent many years replanting the gardens at Tylney Hall. It is little surprise, then, that the current owners put just as much loving care to restoring the gardens and bringing the hall back to its former glory.
Keith Fisher, a valued member of Paul Tattersdill’s team for over 31 years, has now taken the reigns as the new Head of Estates. Keith and his dedicated team will continue the long-term restoration of the grounds initiated by Paul Tattersdill. At the last count, the estate, which spans 66 acres, contained more than 250,000 trees and shrubs.
Highlights include the Rose and Azalea Gardens, the Water Garden and the Dutch and Italian gardens, where visitors can enjoy a wonderful sight of the lake with its picturesque boathouse bridge. You are also encouraged to stroll down to the lake and make your way back to the Vista, the longest uninterrupted view in Hampshire, framed by giant redwoods.
