An evergreen. spreading shrub forming a mat of succulent foliage to 15cm tall and eventually up to 1.5m wide. The fleshy, cylindrical, light green leaves are up to 1.5cm long and covered with short, white, bristly hairs. From late spring into early summer the foliage is covered with a profusion of pale purple-pink flowers up to 2.5cm in diameter
