Tapiscia sinensis

A small to medium-sized, deciduous tree reaching heights of 9m or more in the wild but likely to be smalller in cultivation. Leaves are divided into 5-9 ovate, toothed leaflets to 12cm long with greyish-white undersides. Small, yellowish, fragrant spring flowers are borne in panicles to 25cm long (male flowers only) or in shorter, more stoutly branched bisexual panicles and may be followed by egg-shaped, black fruits
