A compact, mat-forming, rhizomatous perennial to around 10cm tall and 30cm wide. Small, fern-like, bronze-tinted, lobed leaves form a low mound above which loose clusters of tiny, star-shaped pale pink-purple flowers are borne in summer on upright stems
