Join the RHS Lindley Library and Dr Caroline Ikin as we celebrate garden designer, author, nursery woman, artist and gardener: Gertude Jekyll (1843-1932).

Influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement, and her artistic interest in pattern and colour theory, she pushed the boundaries of garden design to ‘paint a landscape with living things’.

In this conversation we will be looking at Jekyll’s designs and continued influence – taking a close look at her scrapbook (held by the Lindley Library) and her house and garden, Munstead Wood.

There will be plenty of time to ask questions, plus you can join us for a drink after the conversation and explore the RHS Lindley Library's collection of gardening books.

Tickets are required for the event with the ticket cost supporting the RHS Lindley Library.

Discover Gertrude Jekyll's Scrapbook and other treasures from our collections, on RHS Digital Collections.
