    Lino Printing

This workshop is a great place to embark or continue on your linocut journey, in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment. Throughout the day you will learn the basics of linocut – how to use the tools, create and carve your own design and ink and print it successfully.

We will begin looking at how we make marks to create a successful design using our tools. We will then head outside to seek seasonal botanical inspiration from the gardens to use to create seasonal and festive card designs inspired by plants and nature. Back in the Learning Centre, you will work on creating your own design, carving it into the lino then printing it to produce a short edition of your own one-colour lino-print greetings cards.

Participants will each be given an exciting, seasonal ‘goody bag’ as part of the course fee, containing all the essentials necessary to carve and print at home. This will include a sketchbook, cutting tools, a lino block, ink, brayer and baren.

Victoria Owen is a full-time artist and printmaker living and working in beautiful North Devon. Her linocuts
combine a love of nature, story and pattern, and often feature botanical subject matter. Victoria studied Fine Art and Visual Culture at University of Brighton and ran some successful and popular workshops at RHS Garden Rosemoor in 2023.
