Pinus sylvestris has been chosen as the main feature tree to give the impression of a UK woodland which inspired the design.
Ferns such as Dryopteris filix-mas and Asplenium scolopendrium create the woodland understory.

Brachythecium rutabulum is the key species which makes up the moss matrix for the moss lawn, with three other species mixed in with it.
Cornus alba adds structure and a mid level to the planting.
