Meet the designer of the Moss Magic Garden at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival 2024
Bea Tann is a Venezuelan and English designer currently working as a graduate landscape architect at ADAS in Manchester. Bea is inspired by what makes places unique, and how this can be transferred into garden design to create a design that is enhanced by how it speaks to its setting and how its users interact with it. See the Moss Magic Garden In 2022 Bea Tann designed The Enchanted Rain Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, winning a Silver-gilt medal and becoming the youngest ever female medalist at the show at age 22. The same year, she also designed the RHS and BBC North West Urban Community Garden at RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. Bea says: “After my previous show gardens I was really keen to return as it’s a great opportunity to showcase new or unusual design ideas. With this design I want to show the use of moss to create a talking point about changing the perceived aesthetics of environmentally friendly planting techniques like this, which have previously been considered weeds or not visually pleasing. I decided to enter the Get Started Garden category as the small rectangular shape of the plots perfectly fits with my idea for creating a garden for a new build home as this is often the size and shape of garden plots on new build estates.”
