Clump-forming, deciduous grass, about 1.2m tall, with narrow, arching blue-green leaves flushed pink in spring and summer which turn red-bronze in autumn, fading to pale brown in winter. Feathery flower panicles open silver-pink in late summer and early autumn, fading to silvery-beige and remaining on the plant over winter
