A mat-forming, evergreen succulent producing fleshy green rosettes, flushed deep red, then turning a chocolate brown in spring and summer, with contrasting fine silvery-white hairs and some webbing on the leaf margins. Tall spikes of starry pink flowers produced from mature rosettes, die off after flowering in summer and are replaced by new offsets

Cultivation
