Magnolia × brooklynensis 'Black Beauty'

Compact, upright deciduous small tree with mid-green elliptical leaves. Flowers have purple outer petals with creamy coloured interiors. Flowers freely, but flowers can be damaged by late frosts. Grows best in slightly acidic, fertile, moist soils.
