How to grow
Cultivation
Grow in any soil in full sun. They need moisture whilst growing but by July need very little. May have the potential to become a nuisance if not managed well. See chive cultivation for further advice
Propagation
Propagate by seed. See sowing vegetable seeds

Pruning
No pruning required. However regular harvesting will promote fresh young growth. Also, removing flowers before they finish, will prevent self-seeding

May be susceptible to birds pulling them out the ground, if they are planted as sets

May be susceptible to onion downy mildew , onion white rot and leek rust
