A multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub to around 3.5 metres in height, with a horizontal, spreading habit and dark green, glossy, toothed and leathery foliage which turns purple to red in the autumn. Showy white flowers appear in the spring, followed by red to black berries in late summer. Makes a good specimen shrub
