A large shrub or small tree to around 4m high, with a spreading habit and oval, slightly toothed, glossy dark green leaves. Young branches have a slight weeping habit. Masses of pendent, bell-shaped, pale pink flowers with dark red calyces are produced along the undersides of the branches in early summer
