An evergreen shrub to 1.3m high, with rounded, variegated leaves. Foliage is green and golden yellow in spring and summer, and takes on warm shades of orange and pinkish red in autumn and winter. This is a female cultivar, though flowers are insignificant and berries are rarely produced.

How to grow

Cultivation

In milder areas, grow outdoors in neutral to slightly acid soil, in sun or light shade, and protect from winter frosts. Grow under glass in peat-free, loam-based potting compost with added grit, in bright filtered light and with good ventilation.

Propagation

Propagate by seed or by semi-hardwood cuttings in late summer. As this plant is protected by Plant Breeders' Rights, any propagation should be for personal rather than commercial use
