A herbaceous perennial up to 20cm high which spreads slowly by runners and has aromatic, evergreen, rounded, lobed, glossy green leaves which turn rich shades of red, orange and yellow in autumn, and sideways-facing, warm pink flowers, with pink-red calyces, from early summer to midsummer
