Argyranthemum Butterfly ('Ulyssis')

An evergreen, frost-tender subshrub, often grown as an annual, forming a compact mound of finely-divided, grey-green foliage to around 45cm tall. A mass of single flowers, lemon-yellow with a darker yellow centre, are borne above the foliage from late spring until the first frosts.

How to grow

Cultivation

Grow in moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and pinch growing tips to keep compact. Mulching may protect rootstock from frost, and helps to conserve water. Water in prolonged dry spells

Propagate by softwood cuttings in spring, and semi-hardwood cuttings of non-flowering shoots at other times
