About the garden
New for 2024: Home to the Rogers family since 1840, Riverhill Himalayan Gardens is renowned for its beautiful, historic gardens, surprising planting and expansive views across the Weald of Kent. This family-run garden offers visitors space to discover, relax and draw breath.
The stunning Walled Garden includes sculptural terraced lawns and water feature. A fragrant rose walk leads down to the newly restored Rock Garden, awash with dappled light, rare ferns and gentle water cascades. The Wood Garden contains a historic rhododendron collection, while the Little Everest Viewpoint is the chance to see those panoramic views.
Seasonal highlights include spectacular bluebell woods in April and May. Rhododendrons and azaleas in May, alliums and peony borders in June, roses in July and August and spectacular autumn colour in October.
For younger visitors and canine companions, there is plenty of space for running around, so no one gets left behind. There is also an adventure playground with twisty slide and tree house, a fiendishly tricky hedge maze, den building woods and Yeti spotting.
The on-site café coffee, light lunches (including lunch boxes for children), ice-cream and cakes. A lovely selection of plants are for sale and the quirky shed shop is a great place to find an unusual gift.
