About the garden

Set amidst the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, this 60-acre privately owned woodland garden was purchased in 1980 by Tim Whiteley, a former Chairman of the RHS Lily Group and a member of the RHS Woody Plant Committee.

There’s something to see in every season. Carpets of named snowdrops in February give way to wonderful spring bulbs and the garden’s 2,624ft-long Scilla ‘stream’ as the landscape comes to life. These are followed by 100 magnolias, which are later joined by the first flush of new leaves, rhododendrons and azaleas.

Warmer months see the appearance of over 300 roses and 150 lilies, including Lilium martagon ‘Evenley Jane’, which was developed and propagated on-site. As the season slows down, the garden offers a stunning display of autumn colors showcased in its leaves, bark, seeds, and berries.
