AGM plants have been through a rigourous trial and assessment programme. They are:
A. bertolonii is a perennial to 30cm, with much divided basal leaves and erect stems bearing up to four nodding, violet-blue flowers with wide-spreading sepals and short, straight or hooked spurs
A. canadensis is a slender herbaceous perennial to 60cm, with divided, dark green basal leaves and erect stems bearing nodding flowers 3-5cm long, with pale yellow petals and erect, scarlet sepals with straight spurs
Songbird Series are bushy, compact plants to 50cm tall, with straight-spurred, upward-facing flowers in shades of blue, red or yellow, often with contrasting white petals
'William Guiness' is an upright perennial to 75cm, with divided foliage and flowers to 5cm across, with deep maroon-purple sepals and contrasting white petals with deep purple spurs which curl at the tips
Music Series is a compact short-lived perennial to 45cm, with long-spurred flowers in shades of red, yellow, blue or white, often bicolored
A. flabellata var. pumila is a compact perennial to 15cm in height, with slightly glaucous, divided leaves and 1-3 nodding flowers 3cm in width, with light violet-blue sepals and spurs and creamy-white petals
'Hensol Harebell' is an erect herbaceous perennial to 90cm, with divided leaves tinted purple in late summer, and nodding, rich violet-blue flowers 5cm wide, with short, hooked spurs
Aquilegia vulgaris, the wild species is usually blue, with nodding "bonnets", but many purple, mauve, pink and white colour variants have developed in gardens during its long history in cultivation
'Nivea' is an upright plant to 80cm, with divided, light green leaves and abundant, pure white flowers 5cm in width, with short, curled spurs
'Black Barlow' is an upright perennial to 90cm tall, with grey-green divided leaves and distinctive, pompon-like, deep purple flowers in early spring and summer
