The large, round-to-conical, dessert pears have smooth, yellow skin with some russetting, and firm, juicy, melting, sweet flesh with a perfumed flavour. Pick in early autumn and use to mid-autumn. Not self-fertile, in pollination group 3

A deciduous tree reaching 8m. It has glossy green leaves which become yellow in autumn. White blossom in spring develops into early-season pears with a conical shape. The ripe colour is golden green with a slight rosy blush and distinct russet lenticels (markings which are raised pores on the trunk). In storage, they have a tendency to decay in the core whilst looking perfect on the outside

A desert pear growing 2.5-8m tall depending upon the rootstock. It is a reliable cropper but needs warmth to develop its full potential. The medium to large fruit have smooth, greenish-yellow skin and melting, sweet, juicy flesh with a good pear flavour. Pollination group 4; crops in September and stores to December

A medium-sized tree with rather drooping branches, long, oval, shiny leaves and white blossom in spring. Smooth-skinned fruit are pale green to pale yellow with bright red flushing, and pale yellow, juicy flesh with a mild, pleasant flavour. Pick and use in late summer. Not self-fertile, in pollination group 4

A medium-sized, upright tree with shiny, oval leaves and white blossom in spring. The medium-sized, conical to almost round, dessert fruit have pale green, russetted skin, and yellowish-white, slightly gritty, very juicy, melting flesh with a distinctive, highly perfumed flavour at its best. Pick in mid-autumn and use to late autumn. Not self-fertile, in pollination group 6
