Specialist interest groups

There are many plant societies formed to promote interest in particular plants.
These include the RHS Member Groups - the Fruit Group, the Lily Group and the Rhododendron, Camellia and Magnolia Group.
The Society also has specialist interest in a number of plant groups for research.

Collecting and recording plants

National Plant Collections - run by the National Council for the Conservation of Plants & Gardens (NCCPG) - are concerned with the preservation of plant diversity in gardens.

Plant registration

Registration of cultivar names ensures that a name is applied to only one new plant within a related group. The RHS is registrar for nine plant groups.
