  • Genus Xanthoceras are upright deciduous shrubs with pinnate leaves and erect panicles or racemes of star-shaped wite flowers in late spring

  • Family Sapindaceae / Sapindaceae

  • Species X. sorbifolium is an upright, medium-sized deciduous shrub with bright green pinnate leaves composed of narrow, toothed leaflets. Red-centred, white flowers 2.5cm in width are borne in erect panicles to 20cm in length in late spring
