About the RHS

Established in 1804, the Royal Horticultural Society is the UK's leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture, promoting and encouraging gardening for all.

Our goal is to share our passion for plants and gardening with the widest possible audience in order to inspire and inform gardening in public and private spaces.

Support us

Schools' programmes, adult education, advisory services, plant trials and horticultural science are at the heart of the RHS's charitable purpose. Members' subscriptions are the mainstay of our funding, but as we don't receive any statutory funding we also rely on donations, legacies, sponsorship and voluntary work. You help every time you visit an RHS show or garden or buy an RHS product.

Britain in Bloom

Britain in Bloom is the largest horticultural campaign in Europe. Every year, hundreds of communities get involved - from tiny rural villages to large cities. Every Bloom group has a common goal  - to use their horticultural skills and enthusiasm for plants and gardens to help regenerate their local environment.

Britain in Bloom is organised by the RHS, in partnership with Shredded Wheat. We run this national competition and promote the year-round Bloom campaign, providing support and advice for communities across the UK so they can put their passion to great use and green up their local area.
