Every year, for five days in May, the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, are transformed into the fabulous show gardens, inspirational small gardens and vibrant horticultural displays that make up the world’s most famous flower show.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is the first event of the summer season and showcases the finest examples of horticultural excellence, created by the best garden designers, plantsmen and plantswomen. It sets the latest gardening trends, is plant breeders favourite place to launch new plants and features the newest and most desirable gardening products.

Designers from across the globe create around 20 show gardens, which create the impact and spectacle that Chelsea is renowned for.

The Helios chic garden from 2007 The smaller gardens, which often act as a platform for up and coming designers, are split into four different categories - the stylish and bold chic gardens, courtyard gardens, which are for rural or semi-rural settings, roof gardens and city gardens, which are sanctuaries for urban dwellers.

Within the Great Pavilion more than 100 floral displays create a vision of colours and textures and an explosion of scents. Specialist nurseries and leading exhibitors from all over the world go to great lengths to ensure their blooms are at their very best for show week.

Visitors can pick up a wide range of gardening accessories, and many new gardening products make their debut at the show. Those wishing to learn and discover some of the latest scientific developments in horticulture must see the Lifelong Learning exhibits within the Great Pavilion. The latest trends in floral art and floristry can also be seen at the show.

* The show closes at 5.30pm on Saturday 24 May. Sell-off of display plants starts at 4pm.

Please note: ALL tickets must be booked in advance. No tickets will be available to purchase on the gate.

Groups & Affiliated Societies

All groups are welcome, but there are no discounts. Coach parking is available in Battersea Park.

RHS Affiliated Societies may purchase up to two tickets on Thursday 22, Friday 23 or Saturday 24 May at members’ rates; additional tickets are available at public rates.

RHS members can enjoy the show on Members’ Days (20 & 21 May) when visitor numbers are limited. Alternatively, visit on a public day (22 - 24 May) and take advantage of privilege priced tickets.

RHS members’ rate allocations: RHS members may purchase two tickets at members' rates; additional tickets may be purchased at public rates.
Using the 24-hour booking line or RHS website ensures tickets are reserved instantly.

Show catalogue

The official show catalogue is a great way to plan your day; it costs £5 (plus £1.50 p&p in advance). Buy one when you order your tickets. Advance orders for the catalogue close 1 May 2008.

Conditions

No animals are admitted to the show, except for registered guide or assistance dogs.

For reasons of comfort and safety children under five, babes-in-arms, prams and pushchairs are not admitted.

Charged car parking is available in Battersea Park.

Full travel and show information is sent with tickets.

There is no re-admission once you leave the Showground, although RHS members will be allowed re-admission for the sell-off after 4pm on Saturday 24, on production of a valid membership card or goods receipt with ticket stub.

Disabled visitors

Parking is available in Battersea Park as above. Buses with wheelchair access run regularly to and from the show. Visitors requiring use of the mobility bus should advise the parking stewards on arrival at Battersea Park.

Attendants cannot be provided but one companion is admitted free of charge per wheelchair user, visually impaired visitor or other person whose disability necessitates a carer.

Wheelchairs are available for loan, but must be reserved in advance. For information on wheelchair loan call 0845 260 7000 from 7 January 2008. Limited availability. The closing date for booking is 16 May 2008.

Catering

The Rock Bank Restaurant offers a full English breakfast, three-course lunches, and late afternoon/early evening meals. To book a table, call 0845 260 7000 during office hours (booking line closes two days before the relevant show day). Limited availability; please book early to avoid disappointment.
